Tri-County CTA submitted a BID to the USTA League Southern Section Tournament Committee in April of 2008 to host the 2009 and 2010 Sectional Mixed Doubles Championships. We just received official word that the Tri-County area has been awarded this tournament. This is very exciting for Hinds, Madison, and Rankin counties as this tournament will bring 800 adult/senior participants and 300 guests into the area for a 4-day weekend and the economic impact is significant. The event includes champions from each of nine states who will compete for the USTA Southern Section Titles.The planning committee will be meeting soon to start working on the details of this huge endeavor. This tournament brings with it the opportunity for us to host other Sectional tournaments. Stay tuned for more updates.
